A Garonne River Cruise is one of the most relaxed and elegant ways to experience Bordeaux.
Step aboard a small, stylish boat for a private three-hour journey on the river. Good wine, delicious food, and beautiful scenery come together effortlessly.
Your cruise departs right from the historic heart of the city. You’ll glide past graceful bridges, 18th-century façades, and the famous Place de la Bourse.
Then the city slips away, and the real surprise begins. Your captain heads upriver. Along the way, you’ll pass charming riverside villages like Cambes, Langoiran, and Cadillac.
Most visitors never see this side of Bordeaux.

During the cruise, enjoy a guided tasting of carefully selected Bordeaux wines. You’ll sip reds, whites, and sparkling Crémant de Bordeaux, paired with local cheeses and charcuterie or dinner.
The atmosphere stays easygoing and refined. There’s plenty of time for conversation, photos, and simply watching the riverbanks roll past.
Outside the city, the scenery turns wonderfully rural. These banks are dotted with traditional fishing huts on stilts, called carrelets. Vineyards from the Côtes de Bordeaux and Cadillac appellations roll right down to the water.
The Garonne shaped everything here. For centuries, this river carried Bordeaux wine barrels to the world. Bordeaux’s nickname, the Port of the Moon, even comes from the crescent curve of this very river. You’ll hear these stories from your host as the scenery drifts by.
One of our favorite options is to turn your cruise into a full meal with one of two gourmet menus, cooked fresh on board.
The Fish Menu starts with appetizer bites and four fresh Arcachon Bay oysters per person. The main course is the catch of the day, grilled à la plancha with baby grenaille potatoes.
The Meat Menu opens with the same appetizers and Arcachon oysters. Then comes the butcher’s cut of the day, grilled à la plancha with grenaille potatoes.
Both menus include wine and/or a soft drink, plus still and sparkling water.
