Bordeaux Wine Vacations was created in 2019 by two best friends who met while living in Bordeaux and who enjoyed the lifestyle and culture so much they wanted to share their adopted city, and the region’s delectable wine, with the world.
Born in England but raised in France from a young age, Andrew has lived in Bordeaux since 2002. He and his family moved down from outside of Paris to open an English Pub that has since become one of the most popular bars in the city. He then went on to major in Journalism with a minor in Events Management at the University of Chester before returning to France to focus on his passion – wine and wine tourism.
Daniel first came to France in 2010, then moved to Bordeaux in 2013, where he met his wife Eve. Upon his arrival in Bordeaux, Daniel quickly fell in love with the city, the people, and naturally – the wine. He loved the city so much he created a free tourist guide (Le Map Bordeaux) with facts and tips that would allow visitors to experience the city like a local, to help others fall head over heels for the city that captured his heart.
Together, we created Bordeaux Wine Vacations for the sole purpose of wanting to show as many people their two favorite things about living in Bordeaux: the breathtaking city itself and the magnificent world-famous wine region that surrounds it.
Bordeaux Wine Vacations is exactly that: a trip to Bordeaux with an emphasis on vacation and wine! We are passionate about giving our guests an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Introducing them to some of the best chateaux in the region all while being able to relax, enjoy themselves and take in the city of Bordeaux.
We offer a custom-tailored seven-day vacation package that will allow you to discover what we consider the very best wine regions of the area, as well as visit Bordeaux with English-speaking locals. Experience the best of France’s South West as we visit and taste the rich history of the most prestigious wine province in the world. See first hand what it means to be a Bordeaux winemaker during exclusive chateaux tours, tailored tastings, and Michelin-Star meals. Learn about the Bordeaux wine industry, the difference between the Left Bank and the Right Bank (Rive Gauche and Rive Droite), and why the French classification system of 1855 is to this day still relevant.
With groups of no more than 6 people, we guarantee you an intimate and exclusive experience during which you will be driven from your hotel to estates and wineries, all the while taking in the picturesque vineyards of Médoc, Pomerol, Pessac-Leognan, Graves, Fronsac, and many more – including the medieval wine village of Saint-Émilion. Each day will be a new experience, just a short ride from Bordeaux, that will include a gourmet meal, knowledge of the region, unique wines, and breathtaking views that would put postcards out of business.
Our itinerary allows you to not only join us on a crusade through the vineyards of Bordeaux but allows you to experience and enjoy the city of Bordeaux itself. Bordeaux manages to find the perfect balance between being a historically fascinating destination and an emerging modern metropolis, making every stroll memorable. Find out for yourself why it was voted 2015’s Top European Destination, and why it is today one of France’s most thriving cities. We will take you on a walking tour through Bordeaux’s historic city center, bring you to unique wine bars and show you how to live like a local.
In addition to your stay in one of Bordeaux’s most prestigious hotels, all of your day trips will include a gourmet meal served with wines adapted to the regions you will visit that day. Not all meals will be with the group but we are more than happy to suggest restaurants in town so that you can see why Bordeaux has surpassed Paris in terms of cuisine. We are also available to help you make the most of your time in Bordeaux by giving you tips for shopping, sightseeing, museums, and more!
